Entry is completely free. Makasa tournaments are skill-based competitions. You never pay money to enter, and Makasa Dollars ($MD) have no cash value and cannot be bought with or exchanged for real money.
♣Who can enter
- ♦You must be located in Zimbabwe. Payouts are made to Zimbabwean EcoCash numbers only.
- ♦You must be 18 or older to receive a cash prize. Younger players may play, but a parent or guardian's EcoCash number must be used to claim.
- ♦One account per player. Creating or playing multiple accounts disqualifies all of them.
- ♦Your account must be linked (backed up) with a set display name before you can claim a prize. Guest accounts can play, but cannot claim.
- ♦The developer and anyone helping run or test the tournament cannot win prizes.
♥How to qualify
- ♦You need at least 25 games played on your account to enter the tournament.
- ♦Only online multiplayer matches played during the tournament window (Friday 00:00 to Monday 23:59, Zimbabwe time) count toward your ranking. Games against the computer do not count.
- ♦You must play against at least 3 different opponents during the weekend for your result to count.
- ♦Repeated matches against the same opponent contribute less to your score, so playing the whole community is the fastest way up the leaderboard.
♦Prizes & payouts
- ♦Final standings are taken from the in-game leaderboard when the tournament closes on Monday night.
- ♦Winners are announced on Makasa's social pages and contacted in the app.
- ♦Prizes are paid by EcoCash only, to a valid Zimbabwean number you provide, within 48 hours of the announcement.
- ♦You must claim your prize within 7 days of the announcement. Unclaimed prizes roll into a future tournament.
- ♦Prizes cannot be transferred, exchanged, or paid by any other method. Any EcoCash transaction fees are covered by us, so the amount shown is what you receive.
- ♦If two players tie, the higher place goes to the player who reached the score in fewer games; if still tied, the prize money for both places is split equally.
♠Fair play
- ♠These are skill competitions. We review the match history of every winner before paying out, and we may ask for simple verification (for example, confirming your account details) before releasing a prize.
- ♠The following lead to disqualification from the weekend (and repeat cases to a permanent tournament ban): multiple accounts, playing against your own second account or device, win-trading or arranged results, deliberate disconnecting to farm results, and modified or automated versions of the app.
- ♠Suspected cheating is decided by the organizer after reviewing game records, and that decision is final.
- ♠If a winner is disqualified, the prize passes to the next eligible player.
♣Winner announcements
- ♦By entering, you agree that your in-game display name and avatar may be shown on the tournament leaderboard and in winner announcements on Makasa's social media pages.
- ♦We never publish your phone number, EcoCash details, or any personal information.
The small print. Cash tournaments are a limited promotion and may be changed, paused, or ended at any time; the rules on this page apply to the current weekend and may be updated between tournaments; the version published here at the start of each tournament window is the one that applies. Prize amounts may change from weekend to weekend and are stated in the app and in that weekend's announcement. This competition is organized independently by the Makasa Cards developer and is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Google, Apple, EcoCash, or Econet. Players are responsible for anything they may owe (such as taxes) on prizes under Zimbabwean law. For any question about these rules or a result, contact us through the app or Makasa's official pages. We respond to every query.
